El Salvador

The smallest, most densely populated country in Central America, El Salvador is a true hidden gem.  The country's Pacific coast boasts some of the best surf breaks in the Americas.

Those of who remember, or have happened to read a little bit about the country know that there was a long civil war here.  What we don't remember is that it was over in January of 1992.  El Salvador is famous for their coffee as well as their volcanoes.  There are purportedly 22 volcanoes in this country smaller in size than Massachusetts.  Much of the jungle has been turned into farmland here, so the density and  variety of the population of animals is relatively small.

Beaches here range from rocky to sandy.  Sand is primarily black sand due to the influence of eons of sporadic volcanic activity. For a beach vacation, a surfing holiday, or for those wanting to explore volcanoes and ancient ruins.  For travelers from the USA, the national currency in El Salvador is the USD.  Bonus!!

EL Salvador rental information will be posted sometime soon.
The home we rented there has an available cook and maid for $100 USD per week.
